Harbor Fish Cafe in Carlsbad

these are the biggest fish tacos you will ever find! they were good. I thought the prices were too high, was the only drawback, about $50.00 for lunch for myself and my two kids. No beverages, just the tacos and fries

Great spot, food is, pretty basic yet tasty. Tartar and cocktail sauce bumped it up a star. They had no shrimp cocktails though ☹️ sad panda 🐼

Seafood is frozen not fresh but it is yummy & comes out popping hot. Staff is always so so nice. Fantastic view of the ocean. CC accepted.

We have wanted to try the Harbor Fish Cafe and had gone twice before but could not find any places to park so never went in.. we went today and we were given a table in the direct sun we ordered a appitizer and our meals by the time our meals came the sun was so hot it felt like my skin was going to fall off...I asked for no cheese on my salad but got cheese and I took it off the salad and put it on a plate it literally melted... I asked the waitress if we could move to the table six feet away from us and was told no because they didn’t want to clean another table.. the customer one table away from us asked the same thing he said he was getting sun burn and was told the same thing.. he was also not very happy. It was so miserable that I asked for a box to take it home.the restaurant had two other customers and a bunch of empty tables in the shade...The staff was very unfriendly didn’t seem to care that they had two tables with very unhappy customers.

Was told about this place from a friend and it didn't disappoint. Had the fish and chips, one of if not the best battered fish I have ever had. The flavor of the batter was so good. The staff was unreal and the views at sunset were something I will never forget. Great place all around.

Undistinguished fare. Chowder far too hot to eat. Unlikely to return.

Outdoor dining in the shade with ocean breezes, overlooking Carlsbad Beach. Delicious jumbo shrimp in tempura batter is my favorite, worth a drive from the desert for our beach fix.

I celebrated my birthday this evening in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that it was a incredible evening and the restaurant was absolutely the reason for that strong evening. The team helped in a splendid way, the cuisine was great and my friends were very thrilled. We shall absolutely visit again for more events. thanks very much.

Employees in this restaurant use there gloves to clean tables, places menus on tables, serve food, and never replace there gloves or sanitize them. Watched a waitress, clean my table, then grab my menu, and serve my drink without replacing her gloves. Feel like this place is unsafe for Customers. They also left food on my chair from previous customers.

Quick and delicious with generous portions. Just wish we could have been able to add a cocktail to our meal.

Very satisfied! The fish tacos were huge and delicious. You can even see the ocean from some of the seating.

I had a great time in this restaurant. We loved the wonderful vibes and the meals. The staff are super amiable. I’m content we eventually decided to visit this spot.

We arrived just before 6pm when the nice sunset was going down fast. We rushed over about 40 feet to take pictures and view the sunset. Then we were ready for dinner. Harbor Fish Café was very nice. Although seating was outdoors, the heat lamps provided much warmth on cool night. The server was also very friendly. She provided the child crayons and coloring sheet. Most of us had the 2 fish Fish & Chips. The fish were very long and fries were plentiful. There are weekday specials but we could not wait two days for the Thursday Fish & Chips special.

Food is excellent and their branded beer goes well with the food. I went to the restroom and the bathroom door slammed into the back of my heel and took a chunk out. It hurt a bit and I was bleeding pretty bad but not a big deal. I explained to our server and asked for a bandaid. She said she didn’t know if they had any but she will go look. No one came back after good 10 minutes. My buddy went to the front to ask again and he was rudely told that they don’t have any and even if they did, they wouldn’t be allowed to give one to us. The server was nice enough and came back with one she found in her purse. It’s not the fact that I got hurt or because they have a heavy metal door with a faulty closing mechanism, because accidents happen. It’s because they were rude to my friend and no one even came to speak to me at all. Ignored me like I would just disappear if they stayed away. One star for the food and another for the nice server.
